MIC Electronics Limited, a leading Indian manufacturer of digital passenger information systems, has won a ₹1.49cr  contract from South Central Railway’s Vijayawada Division to install an advanced Integrated Passenger Information System (IPIS) at Annavaram (ANV) and Yelamanchili (YLM) stations.

This project will upgrade real-time communication on platforms by introducing synchronised LED train display boards, digital clocks, audio announcements, and GPS-based systems to ensure accurate and faster travel information for passengers. Located along the important Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam rail corridor, both stations serve high daily footfall — making reliable passenger information essential for smooth movement and better crowd management.

MIC’s deployment will feature a fully IP-based architecture supported by optical fibre connectivity for instantaneous updates, centralised monitoring, and improved reliability. Designed and manufactured in India, the solution includes station and platform controllers, public announcement integration, enhanced network security, and energy-efficient displays aligned with the Make-in-India initiative.

“MIC Electronics is proud to partner with South Central Railway to modernise passenger information systems at ANV and YLM stations. This project strengthens our commitment to delivering advanced, Made-in-India digital display and communication solutions for India’s transportation sector. We look forward to supporting Indian Railways’ broader vision of smarter, safer, and more connected stations,” said Mr. Rakshit Mathur, CEO, MIC Electronics Limited.

The contract mandates completion within 12 months, followed by a three-year warranty and operational support period. The upgraded systems will reduce manual intervention and enhance operational efficiency for station staff while significantly improving commuter convenience.

MIC Electronics has previously delivered passenger information and display systems across more than 200 stations in India and continues to play an expanding role in the Railways’ digital transformation initiatives.
