Red Hat, a global leader in open source solutions, has unveiled Red Hat Edge Manager, a powerful new platform designed to manage large fleets of edge devices. Currently available as a technology preview, the solution simplifies the oversight of edge computing environments and applications through a unified console. It also prioritizes robust, end-to-end security—making it ideal for managing everything from widespread retail point-of-sale systems to industrial equipment in remote factory settings.
Managing edge devices and software effectively requires seamless collaboration across organizations and systems, along with centralized management and orchestration of edge infrastructure and applications. This centralized approach also introduces a plethora of challenges, including connectivity demands, heterogeneous hardware, operational complexity and more.
