TME has expanded its portfolio with another brand offering memory cards. It is a well-known and reputable supplier: Kingston. For years, it has enjoyed trust among consumers and professionals. The manufacturer’s memory cards combine solid construction, high performance, and competitive pricing. Most importantly, they meet the requirements of a range of international standards, making the offer suitable for every application: from smartphones to professional film cameras.
MicroSD cards are smaller counterparts of SD cards, with the main difference being size. Thanks to included SD adapters, they can also be used in devices designed for larger format SD cards, making them more versatile. Devices using microSD cards are usually backward compatible according to the hierarchy: SD, SDHC, SDXC. This means that equipment supporting microSDXC also works with microSDHC and microSD cards. Devices operating in the microSDHC standard also support basic microSD. It should be noted that older electronics may only be compatible with microSD (therefore, it’s always worth checking the supplier’s specifications before purchase).
The introduced assortment includes media with different speed classes:
- Class 10 UHS U1 – minimum guaranteed continuous write speed of 10MB/s, models suitable for basic applications, e.g., in cameras;
- UHS-1 U1 – similar to above;
- Class 10 UHS I U3 – minimum speed of 30MB/s, higher parameters than above, supports Full HD video recording;
- UHS II U3 V60 – high-class cards for audio-video and fast photo series, can be used in professional 6K and 8K cameras;
- UHS II U3 V90 – very high minimum speed (90MB/s) allowing 8K material recording with minimal compression (RAW), such memories are used, among others, in the film/television industry.
Kingston cards are available in capacities ranging from 8GB to 1TB. In addition to a range of multimedia applications (including surveillance cameras), they are excellent for industrial applications, archiving, as portable memories, etc.
