IndieSemiC, an India-based semiconductor and chip design company, has teamed up with Nordic Semiconductor, a global leader in low-power wireless technology, to develop and commercialize next-generation wireless modules for connected devices.

The collaboration brings together Nordic’s established low-power SoC platforms with IndieSemiC’s RF design and product engineering capabilities to create high-performance, certified modules ready for production use. These modules are already available in the market and are being adopted across global regions.

IndieSemiC’s portfolio includes certified RF modules such as Bluetooth Low Energy solutions based on the nRF52 and nRF54 series, multi-protocol modules supporting Bluetooth LE, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, and Matter, as well as long-range, high-performance wireless modules.

These modules act as the backbone for wireless communication to be widely used across applications such as smart home devices, wearables, healthcare devices, industrial IoT systems, smart metering, and automotive connectivity solutions. The focus is on enabling reliable, low-power connectivity in environments where performance, battery efficiency, Security and scalability are critical.

“This collaboration reflects a significant step towards building globally competitive semiconductor products from India “said Nikul Shah, Founder and CEO of IndiesemiC . The industry is evolving rapidly, and there is a growing need for reliable, low-power wireless solutions that can scale across applications. Through this partnership, we are not only strengthening our technology capabilities but also expanding our presence in global markets. While global leadership in this space has largely been concentrated in various regions , we believe India is well-positioned emerging as a strong alternative by focusing on design innovation and product development. Our goal is to contribute meaningfully to this shift by building solutions that are designed in India and deployed globally.”

IndiesemiC is responsible for the complete module lifecycle in this collaboration, including RF design, antenna engineering, hardware development, firmware support, testing, validation, certification, and manufacturing. While Nordic Semiconductor provides the core chipset technology, IndiesemiC transforms it into fully integrated, certified, and production-ready modules for customers.

Bjørn Åge “Bob” Brandal, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Asia Pacific, Nordic Semiconductor, said, “IndiesemiC brings strong RF design and module engineering expertise to Nordic Semiconductor’s wireless ecosystem. By building certified modules based on our ultra-low-power wireless SoCs, they are helping customers accelerate time to market while meeting global performance and regulatory requirements. This collaboration reflects the growing capability of design-led innovation emerging from India and its increasing relevance within the global electronics value chain.”

This collaboration marks an important step in strengthening India’s role in the global semiconductor value chain. By combining global technology with local design and development capabilities, IndiesemiC is contributing to the evolution of a more resilient and innovation-led semiconductor ecosystem. The company continues to focus on building high-performance, low-power chip solutions for next-generation applications across IoT, wearables, smart electronics, and industrial systems.

“India is rapidly becoming an important hub for wireless product design and development”. Gaurav Kapoor, Country Manager, India, Nordic Semiconductor, said Module partners such as IndiesemiC play a critical role in enabling local innovation while delivering globally compliant solutions. By leveraging Nordic Semiconductor’s low-power wireless platforms, these modules support applications across the range in the IoT domain. This aligns well with India’s broader ambitions to strengthen its semiconductor and electronics ecosystem through design-led growth.”
