Mouser Electronics, the authorized global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is now shipping the new AMT45S pulse transformer from TDK. The AMT45S is designed for power line communication (PLC) circuits in EV charging applications.
The TDK AMT45S pulse transformer, available from Mouser, is designed to comply with the European CCS (Combined Charging System) and US NACS (North American Charging Standard) standards for rapid expansion of charging infrastructure. These standards rely on PLC for charging control, and the performance of the pulse transformer is directly linked to the reliability of overall charging efficiency, charging control communication, and battery performance.
The AMT45S pulse transformer is manufactured using fully automated winding technology. This proprietary process features metal terminals and laser welding to offer low insertion loss and high reliability across the 2 MHz to 30 MHz frequency band.
By facilitating miniaturization, the AMT45S ferrite and winding geometry, and the lack of a resin coating also provide higher production efficiency, improved quality stability, and greater cost-effectiveness than traditional products. The AMT45S features a compact 4.7 × 3.4 × 3 mm3 (L x W x H) footprint and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
