At electronica 2024 from November 12 to 15, a total of 3,480 exhibitors presented their innovations from the entire spectrum of electronics to more than 80,000 visitors. Aaronia AG also felt the enormous visitor interest, as the stand of the market leader in real-time spectrum analysis and drone detection was highly frequented on all four days of the trade fair.
The brand new PC boards from Aaronia aroused particular interest with “It has been shown once again,” says Thorsten Chmielus, CEO of Aronia AG, “that it pays to consistently pursue our own paths. In the past, we have repeatedly found that the PC systems on the market have too few interfaces and that the processing speed no longer meets the increasing demands of measurement technology. Accordingly, we have started to develop our own PC boards. The first result is the SPECTRAN V6 MOBILE, which completely won over the specialist audience at this year’s electronica. Further solutions based on this will follow shortly”.
The SPECTRAN V6 MOBILE from Aaronia is the world’s first portable real-time spectrum analyzer with an RTBW of 490 MHz
The SPECTRAN V6 MOBILE is the first to use the above-mentioned proprietary PC boards based on the Intel Ultra 985H or AMD Ryzen 7949 HF. They are I/O all-rounders and allow, for example, the simultaneous use of 4 SPECTRAN V6 ECO analyzers (4 x USB PD). They also have 10 GB Ethernet, a SIM slot and various M.2 ports. The world’s first portable real-time spectrum analyzer has an RTBW of 490 MHz. This means that even the 320 MHz wide channels of the new IEEE 802.11ax standard can be fully recorded. With a frequency range from 9 kHz to 140 GHz and a sweep speed of 3 THz/s, the Aaronia spectrum analyzers used are equipped for all tasks. The 15” display with a brightness of up to 1,500 NIT
is easy to read even in daylight and ensures the best image reproduction for outdoor use. All connections are protected against the ingress of water or dirt by sealing caps.
The new real-time spectrum analyzers of the SPECTRAN V6 PLUS XPR series, equipped with the latest waveguide technology, were also in great demand. With the new device series, Aaronia is responding to current developments. “Conventional electrical cables no longer work efficiently with millimeter waves, which are typically used in satellite communication, radar or wireless networks,” explains Thorsten Chmielus. “They can distort the signal and usually cause excessive losses. Waveguides, on the other hand, are specially designed to transport such high-frequency signals effectively. This means that the signal received by the spectrum analyzer remains virtually unchanged. With the XPR series, we are providing technicians with solutions that enable them to meet the challenges of measurement technology.” The SPECTRAN V6 PLUS XPR 250XB-WR12 offers 10dB NF at 77GHz. This makes it the perfect choice for radar measurements, for example in the automotive sector (76GHz to 81GHz).
In addition, the waveguide connection of the real-time spectrum analyzers will make it possible to connect own amplifier and splitter systems that meet the respective requirements in the future. “Modularity and future-proofing are important aspects of product development for us,” emphasizes Chmielus. “This is the only way we can meet the different needs of our customers.”
