MIC Electronics, a prominent provider of railway electronic systems and passenger information solutions, has secured a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from Northern Railways for a project worth ₹1.46 crore.
The contract covers the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of an advanced passenger information and telecom system to deliver real-time train and platform updates across railway stations. The project includes deployment of LED coach guidance boards, “at-a-glance” train formation displays, GPS-synchronized platform clocks, and indoor display units, all built to meet RDSO standards.
The order also covers the installation of centralised backend infrastructure, including RMS servers, Central Data Controllers (CDC), Platform Data Controllers (PDC), networking racks, structured cabling, and associated software and system integration to enable seamless data processing and information dissemination. Supporting infrastructure such as optical fibre cabling, CAT-6 data cabling, UPS systems with battery backup, power supply arrangements, earthing systems, conduit piping, trenching, and restoration works form part of the overall execution.
All supplies and works will be carried out in accordance with applicable RDSO standards and the Indian Railways General Conditions of Contract (IRGCC), April 2022, under the supervision of the Signal & Telecommunication Department of Northern Railways. The project will commence from the date of issue of the Letter of Acceptance and is scheduled for completion within a period of three months.
Commenting on the development, Mr Rakshit Mathur, CEO, MIC Electronics Limited, said MIC Electronics Limited said, “This order reinforces our capabilities in delivering end-to-end passenger information and railway telecom solutions, covering both field-level display systems and centralised data and server infrastructure, within defined timelines and stringent technical standards.”
