March 12, 2020 – Mouser Electronics is now shipping the QN9090DK development kit from NXP Semiconductors. Comprising a carrier board with NFC tag and multiple expansion options, plus a QN9090 module and expansion board, the QN9090DK kit allows design engineers to start evaluating the QN9090T Bluetooth Low Energy system-on-chip (SoC).

NXP’s QN9090DK development kit, available from Mouser Electronics, consists of a carrier board, M10 module, and expansion board. The carrier board incorporates an NFC tag and antenna, GPIO connector, external flash memory interface, LEDs, and Arduino headers to connect the expansion board. The expansion board contains switches, LEDs, a potentiometer, and other user-accessible features. The M10 module houses the QN9090T variant of the QN9090 and QN9030 SoCs.

The QN9090 and QN9030 devices, coming soon to Mouser, are powered by an Arm Cortex-M4 processor running at 48 MHz. The SoCs include up to 640 Kbytes of onboard flash and 152 Kbytes of SRAM, providing storage space and flexibility for complex applications and safe over-the-air (OTA) updates. The QN9090 and QN9030 SoCs help accelerate development and time-to-market for developers creating products with rich features for diverse Internet of Things (IoT) applications such as personal healthcare devices, sports and fitness trackers, connected appliances, building and home automation, toys and gaming peripherals, as well as beacons and mesh networks.

The QN9090DK development kit comes with an integrated programmer and debugger along with a suite of example applications showcasing standard GATT profiles in a complete software development kit (SDK). The MCUXpresso SDK for QN is compatible with the latest toolchains from IAR and NXP MCUXpresso integrated development environment (IDE). The full MCUXpresso Suite of software and tools provides a seamless software experience across all NXP devices, as well as a fast path to add Bluetooth Low Energy capability to an existing design on other NXP devices.
