Children are the flag bearers of how the future shapes out and rightly so. And, in Sugar Hill Elementary, fourth graders show why. Here, two children – Jonathan Ayers and Diego Ochoa – are seeing high praise for their miniature motorized vehicle.

Basically, what this model does is fight fires and save koala. Thus, this is a major push to adults to look for better environmental solutions. Diego is not just excited here but also feels that it is a major move forward in the right direction. Why, one may ask? Well, for starters, it not just moves on the floor, but also flies.

And, it is noteworthy that not only is the creation applause worthy but also the efforts the two children demonstrate. Weeks went into the preparation in order to enter the Hall County Schools Regional Technology Competition with a winning model.

About the Competition:

The number of schools that entered into the fray is a hefty 186 and include middle schools and elementary schools. Furthermore, it is an event for two days with students from classes 3 to 12. Additionally, there were 15 categories, students chose enrolment for. And, some of these are programming and robotics, graphic design, digital game design, and 3D modelling.

Winners from this level stand to go to state level on the 14th of March, 2010. Besides, this event is at Marietta Campus of Kennesaw State University. Also, here, students from some 18 schools battle out for the trophy. And, some of the previous winners who raise the benchmark are North Hall Middle School and Flowery Branch High School. Moreover, these kids stand scrutiny by 70 judges. It is interesting that a number of top manufacturing companies stand major representation here. And, some of the top ones include Kubota, American Yazaki Corporation, ZF Friedrichshafen, IMS Gear, and Bitzer.
