GAIA Converter has launched the GRD-50A-M series, a new range of scalable 500 W integrated power supplies designed specifically for high-reliability sectors, with a strong emphasis on military and aerospace applications.

These commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) board power supplies are optimized for 24 Vdc and 28 Vdc input systems and comply with rigorous military standards such as MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461. Built for durability, easy integration, and fast deployment, the GRD-50A-M series offers defense and aerospace manufacturers a flexible solution that helps reduce time-to-market. Its versatile design supports a wide range of applications across land, sea, and air platforms, including military vehicles, avionics systems, advanced lighting, and directed energy weapons.

Key features include a wide input voltage range from 16 to 38 Vdc, transient protection up to 100 Vdc, reverse polarity protection, and overload safeguards. The power supplies provide a continuous output power of 500 W, with selectable output voltages of 12 Vdc, 15 Vdc, 24 Vdc, or 28 Vdc.

With an efficiency rating of up to 89%, the GRD-50A-M series also offers comprehensive protections against output short circuits (via hiccup mode), overvoltage, and overheating. Electrical isolation is robust, with 1500 Vdc isolation between primary and secondary circuits, and 500 Vdc isolation to chassis ground.

Compact in size (10″ x 2.75″ x 0.9″ / 255 x 70 x 24.25 mm), these power supplies are engineered to operate reliably in harsh environments, supporting base-plate temperatures from -40 °C to +85 °C. They come in various configurations, including board-only (/B), coated (/V), and parallel (/P) versions, to meet diverse system requirements.
