SkyWater Technology, the largest U.S.-based pure-play semiconductor foundry, has named Christine Dunbar as senior vice president of sales and solutions engineering. She will report to President and COO John Sakamoto and lead efforts to expand customer acquisition and drive growth across the company’s core platforms. The appointment comes as SkyWater continues to increase its domestic manufacturing footprint, including its recently acquired 200mm Fab 25 facility.
CEO Thomas Sonderman said Dunbar’s blend of technical expertise and commercial leadership will help the company better convert customer requirements into scalable, long-term partnerships across both commercial and government markets.
With nearly 30 years of experience in semiconductor development and high-volume manufacturing, Dunbar most recently led strategic partnership development at Natcast. She has also held senior leadership roles at IBM Microelectronics, GlobalFoundries, and IQE, overseeing global commercial teams and multi-billion-dollar product portfolios.
Dunbar said she looks forward to collaborating with customers to transform ideas into scalable semiconductor solutions, while strengthening partnerships across the U.S. semiconductor ecosystem.
Her appointment underscores SkyWater’s strategy to expand U.S.-based foundry capacity and reinforce domestic semiconductor leadership.
