Mouser Electronics, the authorized global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is now stocking the Altivar ATV320 solar variable speed drives (VSDs) from Schneider Electric. Designed to connect directly to solar cell power, the Altivar ATV320 solar VSDs supply power to motors from photovoltaic (PV) arrays without requiring stored energy solutions. The ATV320 solar VSDs are the ideal choice for pumping systems used in smart agriculture, irrigation, sprinklers, flood irrigation, surface-mounted water pumps, and off-grid solar-powered water systems.

The Schneider Electric Altivar ATV320 Solar VSDs, now at Mouser, feature a dedicated solar drive with built-in maximum power point tracking (MPPT) to ensure optimal efficiency throughout the day. The ATV320 Solar VSDs are compatible with a range of pumps and solar arrays, reducing the number of components while improving reliability and service life. With a dual-supply capability,  the ATV320 Solar VSDs can connect to solar DC input and conventional AC grid power alternately and enable water pumping at night and in cloudy conditions. The ATV320 Solar VSDs feature built-in dry-run, anti-jam, and pump overload protection that protect the pump and allow consistent operation.

The Altivar ATV320 Solar VSDs offer a wide DC voltage range for connection to high-wattage panels: 150 V to 373 V DC for 200 V drives and 270 V to 777 V DC for 400 V drives. Featuring a dedicated SUN menu and the SoMove tool, the ATV320 Solar VSDs are easy to configure, set up, and maintain. The ATV320 solar VSDs offer Modbus RJ45 and CANopen RJ45 communication protocols, in addition to Ethernet IP and Modbus TCP. The VSDs feature a range of security features, including safe torque off (STO), safe limited speed (SLS), safe stop 1 (SS1), safe maximum speed (SMS), and safety door lock (GDL). The Altivar Machine Drive ATV320 solar VSDs were featured in a recent article for Mouser’s New Tech Tuesdays blog.
