Aaronia AG presented its latest innovations at European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2026 in London, held from October 6 to 8. The company showcased power meters supporting frequencies up to 1.1 THz, advanced real-time spectrum analyzers, and customizable rugged tablets. Aaronia expressed satisfaction with the event’s outcomes, highlighting strong interest in its technologies. One of the key attractions was the SPARK signal generator, which demonstrated its potential for controlling qubits in quantum computing applications.

The new power meters covering the range from direct current (DC) to 1.1 THz, in combination with the XPS-WR series waveguide CW power sensors, were very well received. The sensors can be connected either to the power meter’s base station or directly to a PC via USB and operated using the RTSA Suite PRO. “With our new class of devices, developers can, for example, determine the actual output power of terahertz signal sources and components and test their performance more precisely,” explains Peter May, Chief Technical Officer at Aaronia AG.

Rugged Tablet for System Integrators

Another key focus was the new rugged tablet, which can be specifically adapted to individual measurement and testing tasks thanks to a special expansion slot. Unlike conventional tablets, system integrators can integrate additional modules. “This makes it possible to implement customized solutions for a wide variety of tasks based on extremely fast, high-performance hardware,” said May. In addition to standard expansion options such as additional SSD storage and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters, the rugged tablet features a freely accessible installation slot. Various commercially available sensors and other hardware components can be integrated here.

This allows the tablet to be configured for a variety of industrial applications without being limited to a predefined hardware configuration. In addition, Aaronia announced a rugged laptop with comparable customization options. Peter May highlights the features of the product family: “What was particularly impressive about our flexibly customizable rugged models was the well-balanced overall package consisting of powerful hardware, a weatherproof aluminum housing, and extensive options for individual configurations.”

The SPECTRAN V6 series, in combination with the RTSA Suite PRO, was also a highlight at the Aaronia booth. The USB real-time spectrum analyzers achieve real-time bandwidths of up to 490 MHz and sweep speeds of more than 3,000 GHz/s. This technical platform serves as the basis for a variety of solutions, ranging from continuous spectrum monitoring and signal detection to geolocation and the AARTOS drone detection system.

Looking to the Future with SPARK

At the same time, the SPARK vector and DDS signal generator was the focus of numerous discussions. Depending on the model, this product family covers frequencies up to 20 GHz and operates with 16-bit digital-to-analog converters and sampling rates of up to 40 GSPS. Among other applications, this technology is suitable for controlling superconducting quantum processors. This requires controlling individual qubits—the fundamental units of information in a quantum computer—with highly precise high-frequency signals. SPARK can generate defined waveforms with a temporal resolution of 25 picoseconds for this purpose, thereby supporting the precise control of qubits. The device is also ideally suited for signal generation and for reading out their states.

At EuMW, Aaronia highlighted the versatility of its product portfolio through a combination of high-frequency power measurement, powerful real-time spectrum analysis, and customizable mobile hardware platforms. The company develops, manufactures, tests, and calibrates the measurement systems on display in Germany.
