Ambrane, an Indian consumer electronics brand specializing in charging products, has launched the country’s first Made-in-India semi-solid battery technology for power banks. The new technology is designed to improve both safety and performance by offering greater energy capacity without increasing the size of the device, along with better heat management and overall reliability.

Developed specifically for India’s hot and humid climate, the semi-solid battery system helps reduce performance issues caused by high temperatures. Using a partially solid, gel-like structure, it can deliver up to 1.5 times higher energy efficiency in the same space, or enable smaller and more compact power bank designs without affecting output.

This advanced architecture significantly reduces the risks associated with conventional lithium-ion batteries, including leakage, overheating, swelling, and fire hazards, while ensuring consistent and stable performance across varying temperature conditions.

Proven in the electric mobility (EV) sector for its safety, non-flammability, and efficiency, this next-generation battery technology is now making its way into consumer electronics.

Commenting on the launch, Ashok Rajpal, Managing Director, Ambrane, said, “At Ambrane, our focus is on making everyday technology safer, more reliable, and better suited to real-world conditions. The introduction of semi-solid battery technology is a significant step in that direction. We are proud to bring this innovation to India’s power bank category, and remain committed to advancing safer and more efficient charging solutions for consumers.”

The company is also exploring partnerships to extend this technology across the industry, alongside the upcoming launch of its own semi-solid battery-powered product lineup.
