CISSOID has broadened its range of industry-standard power modules with the introduction of the CMT-PLA1BL12300MA, a 1200 V, 300 A half-bridge IGBT power module. Designed for industrial power conversion applications, the module targets systems that demand a strong combination of efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness, while remaining compatible with established mechanical standards.
The device is packaged in the widely used CPAK-EDC housing, providing high mechanical strength and direct drop-in replacement for existing designs. By relying on this common package format, CISSOID allows engineers to enhance system performance without the need to modify PCB layouts or mechanical structures.
Typical use cases include uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), motor drives and motion-control equipment, and high-frequency industrial power supplies. Built on Trench Gate Field Stop (TG-FS) IGBT technology, the module offers low conduction losses, fast switching behavior, and robust short-circuit capability, supporting efficient and stable operation in demanding industrial environments.
The module carries a nominal current rating of 300 A and can handle continuous DC currents of up to 450 A at a junction temperature of 90 °C. It features a low saturation voltage, measured at 1.56 V at 300 A and 25 °C, and 1.78 V at 300 A and 150 °C. Switching performance is optimized as well, with turn-on and turn-off energy losses of 34 mJ and 34.5 mJ, respectively, at 150 °C.
A high-surge freewheeling diode enables the module to withstand transient and overload conditions, while low thermal resistance supports efficient heat transfer from the junction to the case. This combination enhances power density and contributes to longer service life. In addition, the integrated diode’s fast and soft reverse-recovery characteristics help minimize electromagnetic interference.
