Hanwha Renewables and Chrysalis Renewables, a global renewable energy investment platform backed by infrastructure manager Morrison, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at speeding up the delivery of construction-ready and operational renewable energy projects worldwide.

As part of the collaboration, Chrysalis will acquire late-stage and operating projects developed by Hanwha through a structured and repeatable M&A model with aligned investment criteria. The partnership will initially focus on deploying more than 3.5 GW of solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity across North America, with plans to expand into additional markets such as Japan, Australia, and Italy over time.

Morrison said the partnership supports Chrysalis’s strategy of forming long-term relationships with leading developers to access high-quality, low-risk renewable assets. By combining Hanwha’s project development and execution strengths with Chrysalis’s disciplined investment approach and Morrison’s global infrastructure expertise, the partners aim to build a renewable energy platform capable of delivering long-term value and measurable impact across key markets.

Hanwha brings vertically integrated capabilities across project development, engineering, procurement, construction, and operations, supported by its Qcells EPC affiliate and one of the largest solar manufacturing footprints in the United States. When combined with Morrison’s three decades of renewable energy experience and Chrysalis’s long-term ownership model, the partnership creates a strong platform for institutional investors seeking stable, contracted renewable energy assets.

Hanwha Renewables said the collaboration aligns capital and execution from the outset, enabling faster deployment of clean energy projects and expansion into new markets. The partnership is already progressing its initial projects, with additional announcements expected.

The agreement marks the second major pillar of the Chrysalis portfolio, following its partnership with Innagreen, through which Chrysalis acquired several wind projects in Canada, including the operational Hilda and Bekevar wind farms in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Hanwha Renewables, a subsidiary of Hanwha Energy USA, focuses on developing and delivering utility-scale solar and energy storage projects, primarily in North America, and plays a key role in advancing the Hanwha Group’s global clean energy strategy.
