HSC Appoints New Chief Operating Officer

Hemlock Semiconductor (HSC), a top U.S. producer of ultra-pure polysilicon for the semiconductor and solar sectors, has named Fernando Signorini as its new Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Signorini will manage HSC’s main operations, including manufacturing, supply chain, technology, procurement, and quality. He will focus on ensuring efficient execution and organizational agility, playing a crucial role in advancing HSC’s strategic goals and achieving high-standard manufacturing performance.

As COO, Signorini brings more than three decades of global experience in manufacturing and operations with Dow. Prior to serving in this role, Signorini was the Vice President for the Ethylene & Energy Envelope, with accountability for Packaging and Specialty Plastics and Olefins at Dow. He also served as Vice President of Operations, U.S. Gulf Coast Site Director, Texas Operations, and was responsible for 10 advanced manufacturing sites and the Houston Dow Center. Signorini began his career with Dow in 1994 as a co-op in Brazil.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the Maua School of Engineering, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and an MBA from the University of Houston.

Signorini also served as the executive sponsor of the Society of Women Engineers and an active ally of Women in Engineering, the Hispanic and Latin Network, and RISE employee resource groups.
