Specialist connector distributor Lane Electronics, has announced the availability of HUBER+SUHNER’s new VITA 67.3 interconnect portfolio, which is designed for use with its proprietary solderless MINIBEND RF cable termination technology. This latest connectivity solution represents a significant step forward in meeting the increasing miniaturisation demands of the global aerospace and defense sectors.

The VITA 67.3 standard supports dependable, high-frequency signal transmission in aerospace and defense systems by defining standardized blind-mate RF interfaces at the backplane. This improves system modularity and scalability while also reducing the complexity of cable routing and management.

HUBER+SUHNER is an active member of The Open Group’s SOSA Consortium, which promotes open standards and collaboration between government and industry, as well as the VITA Standards Organisation. The company has a long-standing reputation for delivering robust, high-performance connectivity solutions, with its MINIBEND technology enabling compact, highly flexible cable assemblies widely used across aerospace and defence applications.

With this new VITA 67.3 interconnect portfolio, Lane Electronics is offering design engineers high-performance coaxial cable solutions that feature an exceptionally tight bend radius directly behind the RF contact. This allows for highly efficient routing in confined spaces without compromising reliability or performance.

Key features and benefits of VITA 67.3:

  • Complete VITA 67.3 RF connectivity portfolio featuring SMPM, SMPS, and NanoRF interfaces delivered as drop-in assemblies from a single source, including hybrid RF/fibre optic configurations.
  • The largest portfolio of cable and connector options for PCB and chassis connectivity, including high frequency D38999 contact options up to 65 GHz, ensures application-tailored interconnect solutions are selected at design-in
  • Competitive low loss .047- and .086-size cable options available.
  • All assemblies manufactured in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3
  • Dedicated express production line provides made-to-order VITA 67.3 assemblies on short lead-times.

Phil McDavitt,  Strategic Business Manager at Lane Electronics says, “The new HUBER+SUHNER VITA 67.3 RF interconnect product range is aimed at Mission System OEMs and Integrators, and Embedded Computing OEMS (PIC). It offers system designers market leading revolutionary solderless termination technology  enabling extremely tight and robust cable routing while improving system performance with premium cable options.

Lane Electronics connectivity solutions include RF and Fibre-Optic connector and cable assemblies, widely used in defence and security applications. Lane is a franchised distributor for many of the industry’s leading electrical and electronic connector manufacturers including EATON Souriau, CINCH Fibreco, HellermannTyton, Axon’, Positronic, Nicomatic and LEMO.

Backed by a strong commitment to quality, reliability and traceability procedures Lane Electronics also hold a significant number of key approvals. Next day delivery is available on more than 90% of standard products while, for non-standard products, rapid in-house development, assembly and testing of specialist military, industrial and motorsport circular connectors is available lead times which are generally much quicker than those offered by other connector suppliers.
