Mouser Ships Sensirion SFM3505 Digital Mass Flow Meters

Mouser Electronics, the authorized global distributor with the newest electronic components and industrial automation products, is now shipping the new SFM3505 high-performance digital mass flow meters from Sensirion. The SFM3505 compact gas flow sensors deliver ultra-low noise, exceptional accuracy, and minimal pressure drop for inspiratory flow measurement in medical and industrial applications.

The Sensirion SFM3505 flow meters, available from Mouser, build on the success of the SFM3119 and SFM3100, introducing a new, completely redesigned architecture to achieve best-in-class performance with ultra-low noise and high accuracy across an extended flow range from –150 to +300 standard liters per minute (slm). Powered by Sensirion’s 5th-generation CMOSens technology, the SFM3505 integrates the sensing element and advanced signal processing on a single microchip.

Calibrated for air and oxygen, the SFM3505 series includes on-chip temperature compensation for precise measurements under varying conditions, with minimal resistance for mechanical ventilation, anesthesia, and gas-mixing systems. The series is available in two variants: the SFM3505-300 standard-accuracy variant and the SFM3505-300-X high-accuracy variant. Both ensure fast, stable, and fully calibrated digital output via a standard I2C interface. Engineered for long-term use, this sensor requires no additional calibration during production or in the field, thanks to the outstanding stability of CMOSens chips.

The Sensirion SEK-SFM3505 evaluation kit cable, also available from Mouser, enables the evaluation of either version of the SFM3505 gas flow sensor. The evaluation kit cable is used with the SEK-SensorBridge, which allows users to connect the sensor directly to a computer. The combined products can use downloadable viewer software to evaluate sensors that measure humidity, temperature, gas, and carbon dioxide. Available for download, the viewer software allows measurements at various resolutions, displays mass flow, and logs and exports data.
