Advanced Energy Industries, has introduced its ADH series of DC-DC converters, built for next-generation AI data center power systems based on 800 V DC architecture. The new converters are engineered to support the shift toward megawatt-level rack power by offering industry-leading power density and efficiency.
The ADH series steps down 800 V DC input to 50 V DC output and operates at multi-MHz switching frequencies, achieving up to 98.2% peak efficiency. Designed in a compact half-brick form factor, the converters deliver up to 8 kW peak power and 6 kW continuous power, with power densities exceeding 2,700 W/In³ at peak and over 2,000 W/In³ under full load.

The new ADH series is designed to leverage advanced liquid-cooled baseplates for optimized thermal management. Its standard form factor and its ability to connect modules in parallel enable significant power scaling. The ADH series design also includes the safety critical insulation required for systems operating at hazardous input voltage levels.
By combining the ADH series with the NDQ series of ultra-efficient 50 V DC to 12 V DC non-isolated bus converter (NIBC) and the newly developed Hot Swap Control (HSC) module, which manages inrush current and provides additional protection functions, Advanced Energy delivers complete 800 V DC power solutions that enable higher power levels and the increased power density required for megawatt-capable AI server racks.
