Bluebird Solar, one of India’s leading solar PV module manufacturers, has announced that it has secured a 439.35 MW solar PV module supply order from NTPC REL. The order marks another significant milestone for the company and further strengthens its position in India’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector.
The project highlights the increasing demand for high-performance, domestically manufactured solar PV modules as India continues to expand its clean energy infrastructure. Large-scale utility projects are increasingly prioritizing reliable module suppliers capable of delivering high-quality products that meet stringent performance and quality standards.
Under this order, Bluebird Solar will supply advanced photovoltaic modules designed to deliver high efficiency, long-term reliability, and consistent energy generation. The modules will support NTPC Renewable Energy Limited’s ongoing efforts to accelerate renewable energy deployment across the country.
India has set ambitious renewable energy targets, making utility-scale solar projects a key driver of capacity addition. As project developers focus on maximizing energy output and operational efficiency, advanced solar module technologies continue to play a critical role in improving project performance and reducing the levelized cost of electricity.
Commenting on the development, Rohit Tikku, CEO of Bluebird Solar, said:
“Securing this order from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited is a significant achievement for Bluebird Solar. It reflects the confidence placed in our manufacturing capabilities, product quality, and commitment to supporting India’s transition toward clean and sustainable energy. We remain focused on delivering reliable, high-efficiency solar modules that meet the evolving needs of utility-scale projects.”
Bluebird Solar has been steadily expanding its manufacturing capabilities while investing in advanced solar technologies, automation, and quality assurance processes. The company manufactures a range of photovoltaic modules, including N-Type TOPCon, Mono PERC, and bifacial solar panels, catering to residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications.
The latest order further reinforces the growing role of Indian solar panel manufacturers in supporting the country’s renewable energy ambitions through domestically produced, high-quality solar modules.
As India’s solar market continues to expand, collaborations between leading renewable energy developers and domestic manufacturers are expected to accelerate the adoption of advanced photovoltaic technologies while strengthening the country’s clean energy supply chain.
