New, intelligent display by Bridgetek is an ideal platform for IoT, Smart Home, and other product and custom projects. The IDM2040-21R combines features of several products. Above all, it includes a round, color LCD display with 480×480 pixels and a 2.1-inch diagonal, equipped with a capacitive touch matrix. It is housed in a case surrounded by a rotary knob with a push-switch which can serve as a physical interface. The module is controlled by the RP2040 microcontroller from Raspberry Pi cooperating with the EVE (Embedded Video Engine) FT800Q graphics controller.
TFT Display IDM2040-21R
The entire IDM2040-21R device is designed for creating HMI interfaces (Human Machine Interface) with graphic elements. This solution will find numerous applications in systems requiring intuitive operation. It also greatly facilitates designers and programmers. The popular and well-documented RP2040 chip is based on a Cortex-M0+ core, operates at 133MHz, and has 264kB SRAM. The microcontroller works with built-in 8MB external Flash memory. This allows creating complex applications in C/C++, MicroPython, CircuitPython. Additionally, the driver features UART and RS485 interfaces (for long-range communication with other devices, sensors, valves, relays).
Other important features of Bridgetek modules include:
- brightness of 300cd/m2 and a viewing angle of 80° in all directions;
- rotary encoder with 24 positions;
- power supply with a single 5V voltage from a USB C connector or a 6-pin JST connector;
- firmware upgrade capability via USB interface.
The intelligent IDM2040-21R display is suitable for applications such as building automation (HVAC, thermostats, lighting control), audio systems (mixing consoles, Hi-Fi devices), medical devices, industrial control panels.
