Taiwan Semiconductor has expanded its automotive power portfolio with the launch of the TQM series of 40V and 60V automotive-grade N-channel MOSFETs. Designed for efficient power conversion and motor control applications, these devices are aimed at both automotive and industrial systems requiring high performance and reliability.

The new MOSFETs are housed in a compact 5 mm × 6 mm PDFN56U package featuring wettable-flank terminations. This packaging design improves solder-joint visibility, making automated optical inspection easier and enhancing assembly quality in large-scale manufacturing environments. It also supports compliance with automotive reliability standards and AEC-Q qualification requirements.

The low-profile PDFN56U package incorporates advanced thermal-management features, including integrated heat-spreader contacts that improve heat dissipation and enable higher power density in space-constrained PCB designs. Additionally, the package is footprint-compatible with widely used industry standards such as TDSON-8, LFPAK56, and DFN5×6, allowing engineers to replace existing components with minimal or no PCB modifications.

Engineered for 48V automotive systems and other demanding power applications, the TQM series is suitable for industrial motor drives, solenoid controllers, server power supplies, and isolated DC-DC converters. Its low on-resistance, strong thermal performance, and automotive qualification help deliver both efficiency and long-term reliability in critical operating environments.

By combining enhanced thermal capabilities, mechanical compatibility, and automotive-grade durability, the TQM platform helps simplify system development while enabling more compact and power-dense designs. To support faster adoption, Taiwan Semiconductor is providing samples through major distributors along with comprehensive design resources, including datasheets, SPICE models, and CAD libraries. Production volumes are expected to be available within 8 to 14 weeks.
